Lee is currently living in Melbourne, Victoria but is originally from Adelaide and studied both Law and Arts at the University of Adelaide. She later studied oil painting and art history at the Victorian College of the Arts with Lily Hibberd, oil painting at La Trobe College of Art with Jane Cocks and painting and art history at Victoria

About my Peoplescape Paintings

The figures are featureless so that the viewer is more aware of the emotional state of the person. Features can be distracting and I want to explore the inter-relationships between people both within smaller groups and then as part of a larger group.

I enjoy sometimes sitting at an outdoor café and watching people, but taking note of how they keep in their smaller groups although being aware and part of the larger group. I show this awareness through the body positioning…relative to the people they are with.
