Valdine GUIMOND

I am of French Canadian origin with an indigenous family line of Micmac and Metis. My style of oil painting is wet-on-wet.  My heritage and its influences are also obvious in these paintings.  The excitement and satisfaction I find in my painting is manifested in the energy and variety of brush strokes.  Dabs and dots are counterpointed with slashes and scribbles.  My brush strokes fly over the canvas.  My fascination with, and emotional reaction to, colour and nature has led me to these paintings.
